Yesterday was my friend Shannon’s birthday so we went out to celebrate! I didn’t take as many pictures as I would have liked, but that was only because I was having lots of fun. Here are a few to document the night:
On my way to the restaurant, I met this little guy.
We all met for dinner at Cafe 668
. After everyone arrived, we ordered summer rolls for appetizers then each picked one dish to share.
Erika’s dish of choice, vegan pho. Looks delish!
My dish, Crispy Tofu with Sweet and Sour Sauce. So good.
A few of the other dishes.
I didn’t get any pictures of the Depp Fried Banana Shannon and Kelly got but I had a bite and it was really yummy. After dinner, we went to La Paloma Gelateris
at Dufferin and St. Clair for some vegan gelato. I cannot believe I lived so close to this place for a year and never knew about it! I had the soy vanilla, but also tried the soy chocolate and soy expresso.
Next up, it was off to the casino! We heading to Woodbine Slots a little after midnight. I’m not a big gambler, so I planned on just playing with $20. On the first 25 cent machine I played, I lost $5. We toured around a bit. Kelly wanted to play on the Glitter Kitty machines, but they were both in use by hard-core gamblers. We even saw the one man win over $900 then keep playing that machine! We played some 5 cent machines and I lost ANOTHER $5. We went on another search and Kelly settled on playing a Miss Kitty machine. There was a free Maltese Fortune machine nearby so I put my $10 ticket in and played.
I won 15 free spins almost right away so I sat back and watched. I can’t recall what I got down to, but when it was over, I had $23.50!
I decided then that I would stop, even though we had another 20 minutes. I liked the idea of leaving ahead, even if it was only by $3.50. I was actually the only one in our group who didn’t lose money!
Bye bye Woodbine!
All in all, it was a fantastic night! Lots of laughs. I need to see those girls more often since it was the first time I had seen Shannon in 3 months! We want to get together for a Cards Against Humanity
game night soon!
Have a great weekend!
